How to Get Rid of Dark Circles Under Eyes Fast?

There are many ways people use to treat dark circles. As everyone has different skin type and different conditions so it is not necessary that what works for them also work for you.

Here I am going to mention some natural remedies which you can try to check what works for you. In case, you don’t notice any improvement then visiting a doctor is a must.

1. Take Proper Sleep

In some cases, lack of sleep is the cause of dark circles and one can easily get rid of them by taking proper sleep (6-8h) for a couple of days.

Just take a note of your sleeping routine to check if you are sleeping that much or not. If not then take proper sleep to get rid of dark circles.

2. Use Cold Compress Technique

The cold compress technique is also very effective against dark circles.

It has been seen that in some cases dilated blood vessels can cause dark circles to appear and when cold compress technique is applied it constricts the blood vessels which results in lessening or disappearing of dark circles.

How to make and use a cold compress technique?

You have to follow the following steps:

  • Dampen the towel with cold water and then apply it under your eyes on your dark circles
  • Apply it at least 10-15 minutes for at least 2-3 times a day
  • After you are done with the cold compress wipe the area using a dry towel.

So, this is how the technique works.

3. Vitamin K

According to a study conducted in 2015, placing a caffeine pad containing vitamin K helps in the reduction of not only dark circles but also the wrinkles.

According to this study, it takes at least 4 weeks to show the noticeable results but it totally depends on a person to person and also on the severity of the condition.

So, you can definitely give this method a try to see it works for you or not.

4. Potato

Potatoes are a rich source of not only Vitamin A and C but also contain starch and some other ingredients like enzymes which help brighten skin and remove dark circles.

How to Apply?

  • Take a potato and cut it into slices
  • Keep the 2 slices on your eyes for 10-15 minutes and relax
  • After that, massage your eyes with these slices in a circular motion
  • When you are done with this you can rinse your eyes using cold water

How Often?

It can be used 2-3 times a day with a gap of a few hours.

Note: Instead of placing the slices on your eyes you can also extract the juice of a potato and then apply it under your eyes using a cotton ball.

5. Cucumber

Cucumber is probably one of the most used things by beauticians. Do you know why? It contains a number of antioxidants, cucurbitacins, and orientin which are very effective in treating dark circles.

How to Apply?

  • Take a cucumber and cut it into thick slices
  • Put the 2 slices on your eyes (make sure they cover the dark circle area well)
  • Leave there for at least 10-15 minutes and relax
  • After that, rinse your eyes with cold water

How Often?

It can be used 2-3 times a day for a couple of weeks.

When to See a Doctor?

Usually, dark circles are not a cause of concern but in some cases, it requires you to visit a doctor. For example, if you see that the dark circle is only under one eye and also has gone worse than before.

The Bottom Line!

Dark circles under eyes are something common and can happen to anyone. As I mentioned earlier in the post that they are not a cause for concern but definitely you want to get rid of them from the cosmetic perspective.

So, simply apply the remedies mentioned and also try to avoid the causes to gain better results. If you see something uncommon about your dark circles then book an appointment with your doctor to avoid worsening of the situation.
